SFMOMA sold a Rothko for $50 million; this is what they bought with the proceeds The purchased art diversifies the collection with work by artists of color and LGBTQ backgrounds

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art has announced the first 11 works purchased with proceeds from the $50.1 million sale of a work by Mark Rothko from the museum’s collection. Of the works purchased was Kay Sage's painting Midnight Street (1944).
