Meet artist John Knuth, who paints with flies. He orders maggots online, raises them, and then puts them in mesh enclosures with a canvas at their feet — feeding them acrylic paint and sugar water to create his abstract paintings. It’s all part of a fly’s natural digestion system which causes them to regurgitate their food, creating speckled spectacles.
