Galelry artist Norman Carton will be having a solo presentation tilted Norman Carton: Poetic Color Harmonies at LewAllen Galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Poetic Color Harmonies is an exhibition of works by supreme colorist and accomplished mid-century abstract expressionist painter Norman Carton (1902-1980). Norman Carton is highly regarded for his rich color palettes and dynamic brush work. His paintings capture the emotional charge of his sublime gestures and artistic expression in what are regarded as his signature form of abstract expressionism. This exhibition will feature more than 20 oil on canvas paintings and gouache and watercolor works on paper from Carton’s career, during which he became known for his particular prowess with the interplay between light and color, or as one French critic described it, “his intense poetry in color harmonies.”
